Pakistan
is an amazing tourist country with so many historic sites
which are great for sightseeing. A few years ago, I traveled to Pakistan
and visited several cities like Gujrat, Lahore, Karachi and Khewra. I
decided to talk about how I experienced Pakistan and share a few things
you should try if you ever visit the country. So, here's my list of 120Things To Do in Pakistan.
Ride a Rickshaw
Riding
rickshaws in Pakistan can either be terrifying or fun, depending on the
person who rides it. In this country people drive all types of vehicles
(cars, motorcycles, rickshaws, qincqi rickshaws, gada gari and more)
without following any rules. The way they like to drive is by using the
horn. So when you're on the road you will hear a lot of those.
Eat Street Food
Samosas,
pakoras, gol gappas, kebabs... the list goes on and on! I personally
enjoyed eating gol gappas in Karachi and kulfi in Lahore. If you happen
to pass by a local bazaar (market), make sure to stop by a food vendor
and try some local snacks!
Visit Badshahi Mosque
We
went here just before Magrib time and the place is gorgeous! I couldn't
help myself and had to take a picture to capture the moment in front of
this enormous mosque.
Go to Shalimar Gardens in Lahore
This
place is perfect if you want to enjoy peaceful walks. We visited when
it wasn't that packed of people and it's very quiet.
Visit Lahore Fort
Another
tourist place to visit when you happen to be in Lahore. It contains 21
notable monuments, some of which date to the era of Emperor Akbar.
Go To the Salt Mine in Khewra
This
a beautiful place to visit with family. The salt mine goes really deep
inside the mountain and they've created a nice mosque completely made by
salt. The air is so fresh here and I got some cool souvenirs.
Ride the Bus
Riding
one of these fancily decorated buses in Pakistan might be one of the
most adventurous things I've done. The thing is these buses don't really
stop, they just slow down a bit and you need to run to get on them. I
have to say this was a fresh experience that I will never forget.
Go To the Bazaar
I
strongly believe that the best way to experience Pakistani culture is by
walking the streets and going to bazaars. It can be so overwhelming as
is almost if not always crowded by people and I think that's its charm.
Drink Chai All Day, Everyday
Pakistani
people love their chai, there are so many different types of them and
they enjoy drinking lots throughout the day. Whenever you go to
someone's home to visit you will definitely be offered a cup of chai.
Attend a Wedding
Weddings go on for days if not weeks in Pakistan. There are so many weddings
happening in this country and you should definitely go to one and
experience it for yourself. There are so many traditions and it's all
very colourful.
